The phonetic sound /h/ is an UNvoiced glottal.

unvoiced = vocal cords do not vibrate while making this sound

glottal= push air from your throat with your mouth open - your tongue will not be touching anything

word initial /h/ sounds like: his, have, here, help, how, happen

middle /h/ sounds like: behind, ahead, reheat

final /h/ sounds like:

/h/ in consonant clusters: unhappy

h: head, heart, heavy
