Let's Practice /n/

The phonetic sound /n/ is a voiced nasal alveolar.

voiced = vocal cords vibrate while making this sound

nasal alveolar = flatten your tongue so it touches the top of your mouth and the sides of your upper teeth - use vocal cords to make sound through your nose.

word initial /n/ sounds like: not, name, need, night, know, next

middle /n/ sounds like: many, another, funny, dinner, enough, penny

final /n/ sounds like: can, then, man, run, soon, open

/n/ in consonant clusters: sentence, want, end, down, indians, learn

nn: sunny, running, dinner

The letter n is sometimes silent in words like: column
