English 510 serves as an introduction to the field of Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language and Applied Linguistics (TESL/AL), with an emphasis on the use of computers and the Internet in teaching, testing, research, and administration.

This course introduces students to computer-assisted language learning (CALL), the use and study of computers and the Internet in second language teaching and research. Students will learn about the historical and cross-disciplinary foundations of CALL in addition to the principles underlying CALL as an area of inquiry.
